We all need it. It's fundamental to our health this deep peace. In fact, calming the mind and going into that space of deep peace has been so intrical in healing individuals, that many cancer centers and therapist who treat PTSD, now teach their patients how to enter that space to heal. Now, going into this deep peaceful silent space is more commonly called meditation, and to many trying to meditate seems more daunting than healing. "I can't meditate, my mind won't stop," is often a familiar come back. But what we don't realize is that IS meditation, the mind not stopping. Meditation is learning HOW to accept the mind entering, not stopping the mind so you can meditate.
So, now back to the dog. The master meditator. The master TEACHER. Why not let the master bring this space into your world so that you can learn to detach, de-stress, and welcome in the silence.
And walking with your dog is the perfect way to create that space...in tune with him and surrounded by calming nature. Your dog is totally engrossed in nature and, therefore, the perfect companion to pay attention to. Watch as he brings you into his world of sights, sounds, and smells. As he teaches you to let go of the busy world. As he brings you into his deep peace...his 'mutt'itation space.
So I say, go, heal...and Be the dog.
