I promised I'd follow up on a previous blog post giving you more on what happens to you when you connect with your dog...the "secret sauce" to making anything in your life more attainable. Think not?? Well, read on...then try out the exercise below.
Now, most of us have resolutions every year, "better health", "more money", "a better relationship or ANY relationship", you know same 'ole, same 'ole...right?
So why not THIS year change things up a bit so the resolutions you make actually become the ones you DON'T make again next year? And guess what, the resolutions you actually keep will put your life into flourishing mode.
Ok, so, I' m going to get a tad "sciency" with you just for a sec.
Scientists discovered since Einstein first came on the scene, that we are mostly made of energy rather than mass. Well, not just us, but every thing, animate or inanimate, in the universe. Energy that is invisible to the naked eye, is also surrounding each body or mass in the universe. When we connect with someone or something else, we share energies.
So when you're connecting with your dog, you're sharing his energy which comes across as loving, compassionate, forgiving, loyal, non-judgemental, all of those things you know your dog to be and that brings you into "coherence" with your dog.

Pretty neat, huh?
Because dogs are pretty much always in a calmer brain state and in a more loving energy vibration, looking to him to help you calm easily and quickly and get you out of a negative state... well who wouldn't want that?
They are, in my book, exactly what the doctor ordered! Better than pills even because there's NO negative side effects (except for maybe the occassional wet tongue inside the mouth...ew).
And I'm living PROOF that it works!
But don't take my word for it, here's the exercise again to try yourself. Then, please share your experience below.
1. go to your dog, (or find a dog to do this with, your local shelter is
one great place),
2. put your hand on him
3. close your eyes.
4. begin slowly stroking him from head to tail.
5. sit or lay down with him if you like
6. slowly run your hand down his legs, his ears, his tail, his paws
7. pay attention to his breathing, the warmth and texture of his fur
under your hand.
8. do this for a couple I minutes til you feel yourself breathing
slower, feeling calmer, more relaxed.
In the meantime, let any of your negative thoughts quiet down and drift away like clouds from your mind , not grasping onto them, just letting them go as quickly as they come in. After a couple of minutes you'll feel more calm and collected, probably even happy! Putting yourself into this state is exactly the place you need to be to be able to flourish, and thrive in life. NOT from stress, fear, or any of those other negative places. Those places only cause you to struggle to have anything abundant or happy in your life. And who wants to struggle?
