Americans lack a balance of stress vs happiness in their lives. Many go get a pill to solve the problem. But the problem is, it's not solved only masked. The better solution is decreasing stress, and increasing happiness together. Could that solution be your dog instead?
We have added so many stressors to our lives over the last 2 decades, that the number of people taking anti-depressants in the U.S. has increased nearly 400%!
And many it appears don't really even need them.
The thing is, if we take a pill to make us feel less stressed and anxious, it only makes us feel less stressed and anxious. It doesn't reduce the stressors or add happiness factors to our lives so our life becomes more balanced.
We have given up many of the innate vital ingredients for keeping happiness levels up. Things like:
A dog is one of the best ingredients you can have in your life for balancing your stress vs happiness levels.
Just by walking yours, you add most of the vital ingredients for boosting happiness. And as you hug or pet them you add the others.
Plus they give you the opportunity to reduce stressors like taking breaks from work to walk or play with them. And as you hang out with them they can actually eliminate anxiety.
Another great thing about dogs is there are no harmful side-effects. Yet another stressor.
