We all need it. It's fundamental to our health this deep peace. In fact, calming the mind and going into that space of deep peace has been so intrical in healing individuals, that many cancer centers and therapist who treat PTSD, now teach their patients how to enter that space to heal. Now, going into this deep peaceful silent space is more commonly called meditation, and to many trying to meditate seems more daunting than healing. "I can't meditate, my mind won't stop," is often a familiar come back. But what we don't realize is that IS meditation, the mind not stopping. Meditation is learning HOW to accept the mind entering, not stopping the mind so you can meditate.
So, now back to the dog. The master meditator. The master TEACHER. Why not let the master bring this space into your world so that you can learn to detach, de-stress, and welcome in the silence.
And walking with your dog is the perfect way to create that space...in tune with him and surrounded by calming nature. Your dog is totally engrossed in nature and, therefore, the perfect companion to pay attention to. Watch as he brings you into his world of sights, sounds, and smells. As he teaches you to let go of the busy world. As he brings you into his deep peace...his 'mutt'itation space.
So I say, go, heal...and Be the dog.
With my 'mutt'aphysical therapies found in muttopia, I guide you on how to find your peaceful space through 'mutt'itation walking.
I hope you'll let me help you and your pup heal together, mind, body, and spirit. Namaste
Ever wonder how good your dog really is for you??
Meditation is one of the best activities we can add to our lives. It brings more joy, more well being, better health, more compassion...the list goes on and on.
So why are most people still not doing it?
One of the main reasons is time. Another is sitting still for a period of time...doing basically nothing.
BUT...if you have a dog...there is no excuse for either of those.
Meditation walking is a very popular form of meditation. Some people just have to move and this is the perfect way to incorporate meditation with movement. Plus if you have to walk the dog, or should I say, have the pleasure of walking the dog, you proverbially 'kill two birds with one stone'.
I hope seeing how easy it is to incorporate 'mutt'itation walking into your life, you'll be doing it at least once a day, EVERY DAY, for the rest of your, what will be a most thriving and flourishing LIFE!!
'mutt'itation walking is so easy. There are many more things that I also include in the walk that I didn't have the chance to mention here. So, please ask your questions or leave comments if you'd like to know more!
Until then, happy 'mutt'itation walking!
Purpose. Do you know yours? If you don't, and aren't striving toward it, you suffer on so many levels. Your life seems lackluster, meaningless. But it doesn't have to be! Here's the first most important step in how to begin finding yours.
Life doesn't seem to have any meaning when there's a lack of purpose.
And when you don't seem to have any meaning, unhappiness and frustration tend to be your constant companion.
Your life is in survival mode. On autopilot. Same thing day in and day out. Working just to pay the bills. Struggling through the day with frustration and exhaustion. And you ask yourself, “What's the purpose?”. “Why am I even doing all this?”
Are you on autopilot?
If you don't have a purpose you are.
When you're living a life of purpose, every day seems new again. You have a sense of excitement and wonder about life. You know where you're going. And you don't really wonder how you're going to get there, you simply enjoy the journey!
So I'll ask you again...are you on purpose or on autopilot?
I was there. On autopilot.
But I was able to come out of it and began living my life on purpose. You can read more about my story here. The thing was, I had to first realize there was such a thing as a purpose. I mean, I didn't really know that life didn't have to be on autopilot. That's what most people around me did, live a life of no purpose. I was just going with the flow of what I knew. And if you don't know, it's kind of hard to move out of it.
Does this sound familiar?
Even when you think you're on purpose, like going to college, getting married, having kids, it isn't really purpose. Purpose is more. It's something that is going outside the box. Outside of the “norm”. Something that is unique to you. That stretches you. That's your passion. It's what gets you out of bed in the morning and is the last thing on your mind as you go to sleep. If it's not this, it's not your purpose.
Some of you may already have a passion or gift...but it always takes a back seat to everything else. Is that you? Well, if you want that new, exciting, “here's why I'm here!” life, you need to stop putting that purpose on the back burner.
But how?? I hear all the excuses: I don't have time, money, energy, knowledge, resources....blah, blah, blah....
If you think you do or you think you don't...you're right!!
And the first step to living in your purpose is to stop yourself from thinking the “you don'ts” or the “I can'ts”. Nonsense!!! YOU DO and YOU CAN!
“Well, I must have no purpose because I don't have a passion or gift.” Again...NONSENSE!!
Everyone has a purpose. I think the saying goes, “God didn't make no garbage!”
We were all created to bring something unique to this planet and our lives. And if you don't know what it is, here's where to start:
Pay attention to your day. What grabs your attention? What do you do that makes you loose all sense of time? What excites you? What relaxes you? What would you do first thing in the morning, if you could do ANYTHING?
The things that pop up don't have to be grand. Start small. Maybe what does all these things for you is sitting down with a cup of coffee. If that excites you you probably aren't doing it very much. So maybe your bigger reason for doing it is to get a little 'you' time. 'You' time is where you begin to let your inspiration seep in to your world. To be calm and be in the now. That's where inspiration is.
Inspiration is the first important step and the key to discovering your purpose.
Meditation is yet another way to allow inspiration in. One of the many reasons to do it.
If meditation doesn't come easily, do it The Canine Flourishing Secret way...while you walk your dog.
That's your dogs purpose. To show you how being in the now is done. And he's a master at it!
You'll go back and forth between thinking and not thinking, that's normal, but it's the process and not what you're gaining as much as what you're loosing like anger, frustration, sadness, boredom...which allows other wonderful things seep in like inspiration. So don't give up!
You are a soul waiting to be inspired!
Life is meant to have meaning.
You are meant to have purpose.
So don't live another meaningless day without living toward or in your purpose.
Instead I challenge you to wake up tomorrow and do what you would do if you could do ANYTHING.
Then hold on for the ride...because your life will never be the same again!
And don't forget to take the strength test above to gain more insight!
